About the Role
This Outpatient Staff RN-Specialty Care-ATU/PAIN Procedures position is located in Nursing, Perioperative Service at VAMC West Haven, CT. This position is a full time position at 40 hours per week.
What You'll Do
- →Included but not Limited to: Responsible and accountable for all elements of the nursing process when providing and/or supervising direct patient care.
- →Assumes responsibility for the coordination of care focused on patient education, self-management, and customer satisfaction throughout the continuum of care.
- →Administers medications and procedures per established policies and guidelines.
- →Influences care outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team.
- →Core elements of performance include knowledge and active participation in the unit/program level quality improvement process and initiatives as well as customer service programs.
- →Work Schedule: 7:30A.M.- 4:00P.M., Monday-Friday Compressed/Flexible: May Be Available Telework: Not Authorized Virtual: This is not a virtual position.
- →Relocation/Recruitment Incentives: Not Authorized Permanent Change of Station (PCS): Not Authorized Notifications: This position is a Bargaining Unit position.
- →Selectee may be required to work at any VA Connecticut Healthcare System campus, as needed.
- →Current and former Federal employees must submit copies of their most recent SF-50 (Notice of Personnel Action).
- →The SF-50 must identify the position title, series, grade, step, tenure and type of service (Competitive or Excepted).
- →In some cases, more than one SF-50 may be required to show a higher grade previously held.
- →This position is in the Excepted Service.
- →The salary is based on the grade and step approved for the selected candidate.
Requirements
- ✓Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.

- ✓Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).
