About the Role

About the Position: This position is located in the Directorate of Medicine, Early Intervention Services (EIS) Branch of the U.S. Naval Hospital, Yokosuka, Japan. Incumbent provides Early Intervention Services to infants/toddlers age birth to three years and their families who are eligible for early intervention and Related Services to children ages 3-21 years, in support of the Department of Defense Educational Activity (DoDEA) special education program. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation

What You'll Do

  • Provide Early Intervention Services (EIS) to infants/toddlers age birth to three years and their families who are eligible for early intervention under Department of Defense (DoD) criteria.
  • Provide EIS or Related Services (RS) to children ages 3-21 years, in support of the DoD Educational Activity(DoDEA) special education program.
  • Ensure the development of plans to effectively transition children from the EIS to preschool services or other programs as children age or families move to new communities.
  • Utilize the Routines-Based Interview (RBI) and family interviews to conduct a comprehensive family-centered assessment of the resources, priorities, and concerns of the family.
  • Conduct evaluations and assessments to evaluate referred students educational and functional needs.
  • Collaborate in an interdisciplinary team, including family members or caretakers, for the development of an Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP).
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on intervention techniques to assist school personnel in the development of the Individualized Education Program (IEP).
  • Maintain documentation of all services in an automated system for capturing data and documentation of services to children with special needs.
