About the Role

Corrections professionals who foster a humane and secure environment and ensure public safety by preparing individuals for successful reentry into our communities.

What You'll Do

  • Serves as Occupational Therapist at a Medical Referral Center providing inpatient and outpatient services to Federal prisoners referred by physicians, mid-level practitioners or dentists.
  • Functions autonomously in the specialty area, but will also be a member of a rehabilitation team providing the latest evidence-based care to a diverse patient population in this unique setting.
  • Provides occupational therapy services to patients who have impairments, functional limitations, disabilities, or changes in physical, functional and/or health status resulting from injury, disease, or other causes.
  • Establishes a plan of care and manage the needs of the patient based on examination, evaluation, diagnosis, prognosis, goals, and outcomes of planned interventions of identified impairments, activity limitations, and participation restrictions.
  • Collaborates with multiple medical, mental health, and correctional staff to provide comprehensive care to federal inmates.
  • Along with all other correctional institution employees, incumbent is charged with responsibility for maintaining security of the institution.
  • The staff correctional responsibilities precede all others required by this position and are performed on a regular and recurring basis.
