What You'll Do
- →5CN is an acute Medical/Surgical Telemetry Unit that provides complex care to primarily Cardiology and Cardiothoracic patients. 5CN has the highest turbulence (admissions, transfers and discharges) in the Medical Center.
- →The telemetry station in the hospital is located on this unit providing monitoring of the 15 beds on 5CN, as well as remote monitoring on 4C, 6C and 7C.All staff achieves and maintains telemetry competence, allowing flexibility in staff assignment to the telemetry station 24/7.
- →Manage the Telemetry Station monitoring patients on the unit as well as remotely including proper identification of basic rhythms and arrhythmias (need successful completion of the Telemetry course). *Selectee will need to acquire BLS certification within 3 months of hire.
- →Work Schedules: Full-time on Days/1st shift (0730-1600, 0330-1600, 0730-2000) with shift rotation to off-tours & weekend and Federal holiday rotation required also OR Part-time/0.7 FTE/56 hours every 2 weeks on PM's/2nd shift (1530-2400, 1130-2400, 1530-0400) with weekend and Federal holiday rotation required Pay: Competitive salary and regular salary increases.
- →When setting pay, a higher step rate of the appropriate grade may be determined after consideration of higher or unique qualifications or special needs of the VA (Above Minimum Rate of the Grade).
- →Paid Time Off: 37-50 days of annual paid time offer per year (13-26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year)Selected applicants may qualify for credit toward annual leave accrual, based on prior [work experience] or military service experience.
- →Parental Leave: After 12 months of employment, up to 12 weeks of paid parental leave in connection with the birth, adoption, or foster care placement of a child.
- →Child Care Subsidy: After 60 days of employment, full time employees with a total family income below $144,000 may be eligible for a childcare subsidy up to 25% of total eligible childcare costs for eligible children up to the monthly maximum of $416.66.
- →Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA.
