About the Role
The Nurse Manager (NM) is responsible and accountable for all elements of the nursing process when providing or supervising the Quality Safety Value (QSV) Utilization Management program. The NM is responsible for the coordination of care focused on evidence based standards and clinical practice guidelines. The NM functions as a role model, educator, and supervisor, providing leadership to the team.
What You'll Do
- →Duties include but are not limited to: Responsible and accountable for the operation of their assigned program and provides coverage for other QSV supervisors as needed.
- →Responsible and accountable for the direction and supervision of specific orientation, training, development of staff , and evaluation of individual staff performance.
- →Identifies developmental training needs for subordinates and provides and makes provision for such development and training to include recommending and or taking disciplinary action where appropriate using the Just Culture Decision Support Tool.
- →Equips staff with tools for culturally competent care and promotes a culture of accountability for high-quality, cost -effective outcomes.
- →Cultivates alliances across the care continuum, building trust through active listening, engagement , and emotional intelligence.
- →Contributes to the development of care delivery models, and environmental design, ensuring evidence-based, accessible, affordable, and equitable, patient care.
- →Ensures compliance with accreditation and regulatory standards.
- →Aligns nursing/clinical objectives with organizational strategic outcomes, and participates in strategy planning and execution.
- →Work schedule subject to change based on agency needs.

Requirements
- ✓Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.

- ✓Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).
