About the Role
About the Position: This position is with the Defense Health Agency at the Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center at Fort Hood, Texas. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation A recruitment incentive may be authorized. Student Loan Repayment may be authorized. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service.
What You'll Do
- →Provide comprehensive nursing care to obstetric and gynecology patients as well as their newborns, with medical conditions ranging from routine to complex complications requiring sophisticated, highly technical care and treatment.
- →Provide perioperative care to include serving as the circulating RN for cesarean sections and additional obstetric surgical procedures as needed (i.e., dilatation and curettage, cervical cerclage, cesarean-hysterectomy).
- →Serve as Charge Nurse on a rotational basis performing such actions as assigning duties to healthcare personnel, ensuring staff complete accurate health record entries, and reviewing and revising nursing care plans as needed.
- →Coordinate case management needs with the case and outcomes management team, develop nursing care plans and procedures, set standards of care, prescribe special care, and identify specific nursing problems for all patients.
- →Maintain continual awareness of approved medication dosages and address uncommon dosages for ordered medication with ordering provider.
