About the Role
About the Position: This position is located in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Brooke Army Medical Center at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, Texas. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service.
What You'll Do
- →Provides for safekeeping and accurate accounting of controlled drugs and narcotics in accordance with Defense Health Agency (DHA), MTF, and department guidance.
- →Teaches, mentors, precepts, and onboard professional and paraprofessional nursing staff, including potential trainees from various nursing programs (nurse transition programs, critical care fellowship, practical nursing) and new staff.
- →Manages the delivery of nursing care, utilizing knowledge of an extensive range of professional nursing theories, principles, and procedures.
- →Provides highly skilled and specialized clinical care.
- →Contributes to the medical examination of patients by observing, recognizing, recording, and reporting changes in patients.
- →Works without direct supervision once competency assessment and credentialing objectives are met.
- →Maintains a safe environment for patients and all other hospital employees.
