About the Role
The Critical Care Nurse Educator is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the educational activities and programs for nursing service staff within the VAPAHCS. Works collaboratively and consults with management and multidisciplinary teams to develop, implement, and evaluate educational programs for staff, maintain and enhance clinical competence, and manage ongoing education and competency programs.

- →Serves as a role model and clinical leader to nursing staff for clinical excellence, research, and the best practices.
- →Collaborates and consults with multidisciplinary teams in planning, directing, and implementing a patient-centered environment.
- →Demonstrated familiarity with established policies and procedures and administration of the unit in accordance with the Joint Commission, other regulatory agencies, and VA policy.
- →Ability to articulate and interpret organizational policies and procedures to the health care team.
- →Utilizes methods, measurements, and tools to evaluate achievement of learning goals and to collect and analyze data.
- →Educator will share this information with nursing leadership.
- →The goal will be to assist with staff and program development.
Requirements
- ✓Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
- ✓All applicants tentatively selected for VA employment in a testing designated position are subject to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment.

- ✓Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).
