About the Role
About the Position: The position is located in Ambulatory Procedure Unit/Same Day Surgery/Post-Anesthesia Care Unit at Fort Wainwright, Alaska. A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. Federal employees in Alaska are currently entitled to receive a 1.49% Cost of Living Allowance (COLA) in addition to the base salary. This is subject to change. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation
What You'll Do
- →Serve as a resource person to other experienced nurses in the ambulatory procedure unit and post anesthesia care unit.
- →Cross-train nurses, nursing students, and reservists for the post-anesthesia recovery.
- →Observe patient for adverse reactions and takes immediate counteractions as required to restore condition.
- →Provide care to all types of patients, all types of anesthesia (general, regional, local and/or sedation analgesia), age group (neonate through geriatric), and status (active duty, dependents, retirees, VA beneficiaries).
- →Consult with physician and anesthetist regarding medical and nursing management of patient care needs Assign staff to patient care duties based on patient condition and expertise of staff.
