About the Role
About the Position: This position is with the Defense Health Agency at the Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center located at Fort Hood, Texas. What You'll Do
- →Conduct comprehensive assessments; identify subtle and critical changes in patient conditions; implement sophisticated nursing interventions; and develop and adjust care plans in collaboration with physicians and specialists.
- →Manage high-acuity conditions, such as post-surgical complications and multi-system organ failure; and manage pediatric conditions, such as newborn hyperbilirubinemia and upper respiratory conditions.
- →Administer oxygen, IV fluid, blood transfusion, prescribed oral, subcutaneous, and intramuscular medications, infusion therapy services, enteral feedings, and parenteral nutrition.
- →Recognize significant and life-threatening changes in patient condition, and determine and implement the proper emergency life saving measures.
- →Participate in the development and refinement of unit-based protocols, policies, and procedures, incorporating evidence-based practices to enhance care delivery.
- →Perform as charge nurse as needed, using management skills to identify, distribute and balance workload and tasks among personnel, make adjustment to assignments, and report on status and progress of work.
