About the Position: Serves as Natural Resource Program Manager for a large geographical area, which includes a major public lake and surrounding public lands.
What You'll Do
- →Coordinate the day-to-day activities of staff.
- →Conduct personnel management activities by assigning work, developing performance plans, rating employees, and counseling team members.
- →Make decisions on technical and personnel problems presented by subordinate supervisors.
- →Identify developmental and training needs of employees and arrange for needed development and training.
- →Coordinate plans for the management, operation, and maintenance of natural resources, parks, and recreational facilities.
- →Oversee service agreements and contracts with external vendors and partners.
- →Mediate contract disputes with contractors and internal staff.
- →Set project priorities for funding major maintenance, construction of new facilities, and facility modifications.
- →Resolve problems associated with controversial aspects of resource management, interpretation, and usage.
- →Resolve complex problems involving conflicts between multiple facets of public uses of managed resources.
- →Direct the monitoring of managed areas to prevent unauthorized use and ensure compliance with rules.
- →Develop and implement a variety of complex resource management and protection programs.
- →Engage in long-term strategic planning and short-range operational planning.
- →Develop conceptual plans for area renovation to reduce operational costs and/or increase revenue.
