Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, U.S. Border Patrol, El Paso Sector, Mission Readiness Operations. Additional selections may be made to include other organizational divisions and/or units within the duty location(s) listed above.
What You'll Do
- →This position plans and carries out a variety of budgetary, administrative research, and program planning activities.
- →This position starts at a salary of $89,508.00 (GS-12, Step 1) to $116,362.00 (GS-12, Step 10) .
- →The Mission Support Specialist (Finance) performs significant review and analysis of budget, management, training, logistics, procurement, and other areas of mission support resources.
- →Duties and responsibilities include: Formulating, developing, and executing the overall aspects of a budget; applying administrative concepts, laws, policies, and analytical methods to ensure compliance and address technical issues, problems, and procedural requirements.
- →Developing, integrating and executing the operating budget; overseeing expenditures to ensure allocations and monetary commitments are monitored and paid accordingly.
- →Managing the travel card program by serving as a certifier and/or review to fund and approve travel authorizations; reviewing back reports and accounts to ensure payments are reconciled in accordance with travel regulations.
- →Preparing briefings and report to management to foster understanding and acceptance of findings and recommendation for future budgets, procurement, and travel needs.
