About the Position: This position is located in the Munson Army Health Clinic in Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. Non-Federal work experience may be creditable for leave purposes.
What You'll Do
- →Perform phlebotomy duties to include venipuncture, finger-stick, and heel-stick to acquire blood samples.
- →Perform a variety of testing in the hematology, microbiology, chemistry, and serology sections.
- →Prepare laboratory specimens for transport in accordance with all applicable federal and safety standards.
- →Comply with Joint Commission (JC), College of American Pathologists (CAP) and with Medical Department Activity (MEDDAC) safety guidelines for handling specimens.
- →Review test request orders prior to collecting specimens, determining whether the patient has been properly prepared for the test (fasting, special diet, medication etc).
