The Medical Support Assistant (MSA) serves as a clerk and is a foundational role within the Nursing Service. The MSA works collaboratively and with other members of the interdisciplinary team such as: The Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse/Vocational Nurse, Health Aid, Health Technician, etc to provide a robust interdisciplinary approach to care.
What You'll Do
- →The Medical Support Assistant works collaboratively in an interdisciplinary team approach.
- →The MSA must be able to perform receptionist duties, customer service and other duties assigned for the proper and timely treatment of patients and maintain appointment schedules for one or more outpatient clinics.
- →He/she must assist with clinic access contingency plans by adjusting appointment times, location, or dates as well as shift patients to other healthcare providers as conflict with staffing and/or coverage occurs.
- →Duties include but are not limited to: Performs data entry, updates and verifies demographic information, no-show information. screen/receive phone calls in a courteous and timely manner, determine the nature of requests and provide the information desired using privacy rules and established clinic processes.
- →Reviews medical orders for coordination of patient diagnostic studies/ procedures appointments/discharge orders and diet multiple times per day (Standard- at least 4 times a day).

Requirements
