About the Position: Position is located at Naval Hospital Beaufort SC - Patient Administration Department, Medical Records. Responsible for the management and maintenance of patient medical records. Hours: 0730-1600 This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service
What You'll Do
- →Interviews and in-processes new patients, obtaining necessary identifying data for preparation of medical record and prepares required contents.
- →Retrieves individual medical records from the terminal digit system for scheduled appointments.
- →Collects and organizes data for statistical reports, audits, and/or research projects.
- →Reviews records for correct format, serviceability, and completeness.
- →Performs annual records retirement separating, screening, selecting, assembling, packing, and preparing records for shipment.
- →Maintains control of medical records that are highly sensitive.
- →Receives request for copies of medical records for patients, other Medical Treatment Facilities and insurance companies Follows established procedures to ensure the confidentiality of all health information.
- →Directs patients to various hospital clinics, administrative departments, laboratory, X-ray site, etc.
- →Receives patients at an open counter
