About the Position: This position is located within the Guthrie Army Health Clinic at Fort Drum, New York in the Patient Administration Division within the Guthrie Army Health Clinic. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation.
What You'll Do
- →Establish and maintain custody of service treatment and outpatient medical records.
- →Interview and in-process new patients, obtaining necessary identifying data for preparation of medical record and prepare required contents.
- →Perform dependent records retirement quarterly to annually by separating, screening, selecting, assembling, packing, and preparing records for shipment to the National Personnel Records Center.
- →Authorize the release of records only to those who have a valid need to review them.
- →Receive and direct telephone calls and visitors.
- →Compose and type correspondence including letters of transmittal, requests for medical records, letters furnishing medical information, and other correspondence concerning the disposition of patients and their medical records.
- →Direct patients to various hospital clinics, administrative departments, laboratory, X-ray site and etc.
- →Scan appropriate documents into the patient’s electronic medical record.
