About the Position: Serves as Medical Records Technician (MRT), functioning primarily as an inpatient/outpatient records coder. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation.
What You'll Do
- →Assign specific codes to medical records, and sequence codes to accurately reflect the resources and procedures used in the care of the patients.
- →Ensure compliance with regulatory and third-party insurance requirements.
- →Correlate operation codes with diagnosis codes to ensure the most descriptive code is selected.
- →Code complicated medical records having diagnostic, surgical and therapeutic procedures that are identified as difficult to classify.
- →Assure accurate coding of diseases, injuries, manifestations, operations, and nonsurgical procedures.
- →Use specialized procedures and methods to correct and amend records.
- →Perform quantitative analysis and check medical record for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- →Identify and document any incident which may denote a potential compensatory event or questionable breach of quality of care delivered.
