What You'll Do

- →Total Compensation Package - Check out IHS's outstanding total compensation package for this job: Medical Records Technician Total Compensation | Pay (ihs.gov) Reviews medical records for completeness, including required identifiers, signatures, dates, and reports associated with services rendered.
- →Evaluates documentation for accuracy, consistency, medical necessity, and appropriate modifier usage; verifies that final diagnoses accurately reflect care provided.
- →Reviews provider documentation to ensure appropriate Evaluation and Management (E/M) levels and correct CPT code assignment.
- →Assigns and sequences ICD, CPT, HCPCS, CDT, and DSM codes based on documented diagnoses and procedures.
- →Ensures diagnostic and procedural terminology aligns with current medical nomenclature and official coding guidelines.
Requirements
- ✓Selectee may be subject to a probationary period ESEP appointees typically serve a two year trial period U.S.
- ✓Citizenship is required Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959 This is a designated position covered by Public Law 101-630, requiring contact or control over Indian children.

- ✓On-call hours or standby duty may be required.

- ✓Background Investigation Requirement: This position requires the successful completion of a federal background investigation as a condition of employment.

- ✓Upon receipt of instructions, applicants must complete all required background investigation forms within five (5) calendar days of issuance.
