The Primary Purpose of the Position: To provide oversight and management of the Medical Administration Service sections by conducting studies and analyzing data in a variety of MAS functions including revenue cycle, system redesign, clinical wait times, access, performance measures, compliance, productivity and supervision of staff. The Organizational Location of the Position is: Medical Administration Service, at the Fort Worth, Texas campus of the VA North Texas Health Care System (VANTHCS)
What You'll Do
- →Applies new policy, provides advice on requirements, maintains administrative systems and prepares administrative paperwork.
- →Data Management Analyzes a variety of reports and databases for compliance and wait time performance measures such as AEG, no show, encounter activity, registration and pre-registration, eligibility, patient funds accounts activities, consult reporting, wait lists, OEF/OIF, KLS, VSSC, clinic management, i.e. cancellation, utilization, and set up, and other Fort Worth reports.
- →Gathers, identifies and analyzes data to develop recommendations and implement action plans to implement new or improve existing effectiveness, efficiency, and appropriateness of practices and to resolve MAS substantive problems.
- →Reviews, drafts and makes recommendations for the Medical Center policies and procedures for assigned programs consistent with VHA directive, and VISN guidance to ensure local compliance issues are addressed.
- →Develops and deploys systems of internal monitoring to identify potential organizational risks.
- →Conducts and coordinates focused wait time investigations in areas of concerns.
- →Utilizes these for compliance indicators, and/or other established evaluation and audit techniques in order to monitor compliance and noncompliance within the Medical Center.
- →Conducts risk assessments and uses these results as a foundation to document and develop Medical Center compliance with wait time performance measures as they relate to VHA Directives.
- →Budget/Financial Management Budget/Financial Management 20 percent Monitors budget expenditures, formulates, justifies, and executes budget expenses for the section.
- →Advises Fort Worth MAS Medical Administration Officer (MAO) of budgetary and finance issues.
- →Analyzes prior years expenditures and requirements to forecast and prepare budget to ensure full financial support and obligations for expenditures for patient care.
- →Supervisory Personnel Management Plans, directs, manages and supervises MAS Fort Worth employees, both technically and administratively.
- →Advises and provides counsel to employees regarding policies, procedures, and directives of management.
- →Selects or recommends selection of candidates for vacancies, promotions, details, and reassignments in consideration of skills and qualifications, mission requirements, and EEO and diversity objectives.
