At the Fargo VA, Licensed Practical Nurses play a vital role in delivering hands-on, patient-centered care for Veterans across diverse physical, emotional, and behavioral needs. As part of a supportive, mission-driven team, you will help ensure dignity, safety and high-quality care for those who served our nation. Incumbent must possess a valid drivers license.
What You'll Do
- →As an essential member of our nursing team, you will provide direct care to adult and geriatric Veterans with a wide range of physical, mental, and behavioral health needs.
- →You will collaborate closely with Registered Nurses and providers, support patients and families through education, respond to changing clinical conditions, and contribute to a respectful, team-focused environment grounded in the VA's ICARE values.
- →Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional Major Duties include, but are not limited to: Provides nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with varied physical, mental, behavioral, and psychological needs.
- →Carries out patient care based on individual conditions, selecting appropriate procedures, treatments, and sequencing.
- →Recognizes, reports, and documents relevant patient information and responses to medications and treatments.
- →Prepares, administers, and documents prescribed medications and treatments per facility policy.
- →Observes and responds to urgent or emergent patient care situations and seeks assistance as needed.
- →Serves as a preceptor in collaboration with the Registered Nurse (RN) and/or provider to orient and train less experienced staff.
- →Provides patient and family education regarding disease processes, medications, and treatment plans.
- →Establishes therapeutic relationships that respect patient privacy, dignity, and individual differences.
- →Performs procedures, treatments, and reprocessing of reusable medical equipment according to assigned duties.
- →Participates in educational opportunities to enhance nursing skills and supports environmentally responsible practices (GEMS).
- →Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
- →Permanent Change of Station (Relocation Assistance): Not authorized Pay: Competitive salary and regular salary increases.
Requirements

- ✓Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).
