About the position: This position will be assigned to the Little Rock AFB, AR - Library. This is a flexible position with no guaranteed minimum hours. Physical Effort: Must be able to frequently lift boxes up to 40 pounds and reach up to 72 inches with/without assistance of a step stool. Work requires some physical exertion such as long periods of standing, bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, and reaching; pushing loaded book trucks; and recurring lifting of moderately heavy items.
What You'll Do
- →Duties and Responsibilities include: Shelves books, magazines, and other library materials according to various systems.
- →Ensures all materials are re-shelved in correct order.
- →Reviews library collection to maintain proper organization.
- →Checks condition of books, removes obsolete/damaged materials for review, and performs minor mending.
- →Processes new, rebound, and reconditioned materials for circulation and reference.
- →Assists with annual inventory of collection.
- →Supports automated and manual circulation duties, including: Registering and deleting users.
- →Charging and discharging library materials.
- →Managing reserves and interlibrary loan requests.
- →Assists with processing overdue materials.
- →Follows procedures for library procurement/acquisition.
- →Explains library rules to users and ensures compliance.
- →Assists users in locating books and information in catalogs, databases, and shelves.
- →Refers complex questions to higher staff members.
