The incumbent is responsible for overseeing the daily activities of clerical staff who perform in a team-oriented, customer driven, professional environment to develop new models of care that emphasize prevention, improve access and coordination of care; educate and empower patients and their families; enhance the customer experience with positive human interactions and therapeutic alliances; and promote the coordination, continuity and integration of care.
What You'll Do
- →Major Duties: Determines eligibility for the Beneficiary Travel Program and process request.
- →Schedules transportation requests from customers and providers.
- →Utilizes the Computerized Patient Record System (CPRS) to review medical records.
- →Determines eligibility for services to be paid by the VA.
- →Monitors the use and rate of expenditure of budgeted funds in assigned fund control points through continuing dialogue with fiscal and the Mobility Manager, review of written documents, and examination of accounting records.
- →Works closely and frequently with the Medical Center fiscal office regarding BT funds, obligations and expenditures.
- →Performs data analysis to generate a variety of reports.
- →Performs Beneficiary Travel (BT) Program activities, including patient transport, Special Mode Travel (SMT), mileage reimbursement claims, transportation contracts, 911 ambulance claims, inter-facility transfers, and common carrier transportation.
- →Receives invoices for payment of transportation services.
- →Determines and obligates fund control points.
- →Investigates authorizations and forwards for supervisory approval.
- →Resolve clients and customers problems and meets their expectations.
- →Other duties as assigned.
- →Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:45pm Telework: This position may be authorized for telework.
