The incumbent serves as a Personnel Security Specialist, assisting in the administration of the agency's personnel security program and performing a wide range of adjudicative, liaison, program management, and technical duties. The position supports the day-to-day operations of personnel security, information security awareness, and the application of security policy across the agency.
What You'll Do
- →The physical worksite for this position is located in Alexandria, Virginia.
- →Presence at the Alexandria, VA campus is required for this role, as it includes on site functions that must be performed in person.
- →Position may be eligible for situational telework in accordance with agency policy/business unit discretion.
- →The agency currently allows for 52 hours of telework per calendar year.
- →The individual selected for this position: You have strong skill in developing personnel security requirements, standards, and regulations for the USPTO personnel security program.
- →You are committed to providing expert advice to USPTO managers and supervisors on contractor and employee suitability/fitness matters.
- →Provides guidance on personnel security issues to business unit heads, advisory committee members, labor organizations, contractors, and other entities conducting business with the USPTO.
- →You have expert knowledge and skill in serving as a subject matter expert on NBIS and e-application processes, providing technical assistance to applicants, contractors, and team members.
- →You are committed to serving as liaison for the Continuous Evaluation/Vetting program.
- →Ensures enrollment of new and existing employees and contractors in CE following favorable adjudication determinations.
- →You have strong skill in serving as a Team Lead, directing and coordinating the daily work of Personnel Security Specialists by assigning and reviewing tasks, establishing work methods and priorities, maintaining work standards and quality control, and ensuring timely completion of work.
