What You'll Do

  • Serving as a Law Enforcement Specialist (Counterterrorism Instructor) GS-1801-13 makes you a valuable member of the Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers (FLETC) team and mission.
  • This position is located in the Counterterrorism Division (CTD), Technical Training Operations Directorate (TTO), under the Office of the Associate Director for Training Ops (TOPS) and located Glynco, Georgia.
  • The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a Law Enforcement Specialist (Counterterrorism Instructor) as a senior-level instructor involved in planning and conducting classroom, laboratory, and/or field instruction sessions as part of the CTD training program.
  • The position serves as a technical expert in or more of the CTD training programs/courses.
  • Typical duties include: Responding to the latest terrorist and criminal methods of operation to incorporate such changes into course material.
  • Developing the long and short-range training plans and formulates appropriate financial operating plans and program procedures to ensure the training program meets the needs and interest of the organization serviced.
  • Planning for and conducting advanced export (off-site) training at other Federal, state, and municipal facilities around the country and international sites.
  • Monitoring progress of students, documents results, and/or recommends remedial and corrective action to include additional training and changes in training and/or operational procedures and instructions.
  • Providing senior level subject-matter expertise and addresses gaps in information when revising existing course/program material or developing new course/program material.
