You will serve as an INTERDISCIPLINARY ENVIRONMENTAL PROGRAM MANAGER in the Environmental Division of COMNAVREG SE JAX. This position is Interdisciplinary and can filled by the following series: 1301 - Physical Scientist, 0819 - Environmental Engineer, or 0401 - Biologist (Biological Science).
What You'll Do
- →You will research and respond to requests for information on environmental programs.
- →You will provide consulting engineering services on matters concerning environmental compliance.
- →You will conduct formal and informal training for personnel at the installation concerned with compliance with environmental regulations.
- →You will provide necessary coordination and review of environmental compliance projects to ensure that they're funded, designed, and constructed in a timely manner.
- →You will serve as the installation's representative on partnering teams, boards and at conferences on matters related to the environment in general and assigned environmental programs.
- →You will provide compliance oversight on the installation to ensure compliance with environmental regulations, policies, instructions, and permit requirements.
- →You will develop, review, and submit permit applications for managed programs.
Requirements
- ✓Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
- ✓OR Have a combination of college-level education, training, and/or technical experience that furnished (1) a thorough knowledge of the physical and mathematical sciences underlying engineering, and (2) a good understanding, both theoretical and practical, of the engineering sciences and techniques and their applications to one of the branches of engineering.
- ✓The adequacy of such background must be demonstrated by one of the following: (I) Professional registration or licensure: Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico.
- ✓Ordinarily, there should be either an established plan of intensive training to develop professional engineering competence, or several years of prior professional engineering-type experience, e.g., in interdisciplinary positions.
- ✓GS-1301 Professional Physical Science Series: Have successfully completed a bachelor's degree or higher in physical science, engineering, or mathematics that included 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering science such as mechanics, dynamics, properties of materials, and electronics.
- ✓OR Have a combination of education and experience with education equivalent to one of the majors shown above that included at least 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering science, plus appropriate experience or additional education. ***A transcript must be submitted with your application.
