The incumbent serves as Program Manager for major technical training projects, responsible for planning and directing all major phases of the Instructional Systems Design process, including needs analysis, course/program design and development, selection of instructional media and methods and formative/summative evaluations. Selections will be placed within AIR-941 and AIR-942.
What You'll Do
- →Typical duties and responsibilities may include the following: Incumbent is a recognized expert within the FAA and is called upon to provide leadership for highly complex and challenging activities under the minimal direction of a manager or executive.
- →Serves as training expert to develop new and innovative concepts, approaches, methodologies, techniques, and policies, or as a senior project manager or team leader for large, challenging work activities.
- →Inspires, motivates, and guides others toward goal accomplishments.
- →Develops and sustains cooperative working relationships.
- →Encourages and facilitates cooperation within the organization and with customer groups.
- →Fosters commitment, team spirit, pride, and trust.
- →Serves as a trainer for AVS courses when needed and works collaboratively with every other AVS training program manager to continuously improve the entire AVS training portfolio.
- →Performs other related duties as assigned.
- →Work is reviewed typically through status reports and at project completion to ensure policy compliance and alignment with the requirements of projects and/or other work activities.

- ✓Degree: that included or was supplemented by at least 24 semester hours appropriate to the work of the position to be filled.
- ✓The course work must have included study in at least four of the following five areas: Learning theory, psychology of learning, educational psychology: Study of learning theories as they relate to the systematic design, development, and validation of instructional material.
- ✓Instructional design practices: Study of the principles and techniques used in designing training programs, developing design strategy and models, and applying design methods to the improvement of instructional effectiveness.
- ✓Educational evaluation: Study of the techniques for evaluating the effectiveness of instructional/educational programs, including developing written and performance tests and survey instruments, and determining reliability and validity of evaluation instruments.
