About the Role
Demonstrate proficiency in practice based on conscious and deliberate planning. Self-directed in goal setting for managing complex client situations. Assumes responsibility for the coordination of care focused on patient education, self-management, and customer satisfaction throughout the continuum of care. Administers medications and procedures per established policies and guidelines. Influences outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team.
What You'll Do
- →Provide competent, evidence-based care to patients with oversight of nursing assistants as appropriate to the setting.
- →Assist in directing the provision of nursing education, orientation, competencies and providing quality improvement and enhance outcomes utilization.
- →Integrates knowledge, skills, abilities, and judgment and is self-directed in goal setting for managing complex situations.
- →Validates understanding of the rationale for care processes and decisions.
- →Demonstrates competence in practice and decision-making, deliberate planning, and critical thinking skills.
- →Must possess and maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and acquire Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification with in one year of employment, and subsequently maintain both certifications throughout their tenure.
- →Manages the care of patients, while organizing and prioritizing patient care needs, and ensuring assigned tasks are completed.
- →Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to ensure the plan of care is achieved.
- →Models' high reliability principles and I CARE values to improve patient outcomes.
- →Shares knowledge gained from self-directed professional development activities.
- →Relocation/Recruitment Incentives: May be authorized for a highly qualified candidate Preferred Experience: 2 years of Acute Medical/Surgical Experience
Requirements
- ✓Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
