What You'll Do
- →You will perform industrial hygiene inspections, surveys and evaluations individually or as part of a team.
- →You will assess work practices to identify the population at risk and to detect violations of published health standards (e.g.
- →Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), U.S.
- →Code of Federal Regulations, DoD and DoN directives).
- →You will present oral briefs, if requested, and provide detailed written reports of IH survey findings including hazards identified, assessment of the hazards, exposure monitoring required and controls recommended.
- →You will evaluate the need for quantitative assessment of air contamination; noise and other physical stressors as well as the quantitative assessment of ventilation systems.
- →You will prepare written workplace monitoring plans and track their completion, updating the plans as necessary.
- →You will maintain, calibrate, and select appropriate equipment and media and conduct or oversee sampling.
- →You will prepare notifications as required and documentation for personnel medical records.
- →You will recommend engineering controls to correct deficiencies where feasible.
- →You will recommend medical surveillance for employees who are potentially over exposed to hazardous materials, noise, and physical hazards.
Requirements
- ✓Courses in the history or teaching of chemistry are not acceptable.
