Human Resources Operations Division (HROD) provides human resources services to approximately 8,000 field and headquarters employees nationwide and operates under the direction of a Division Director and Branch Chiefs. HROD is responsible for providing strategic advisory services and operational work in the areas of recruitment and staffing, classification, processing, employee benefits, workforce planning, position management, personnel security, and compensation.
What You'll Do
- →Serves as a staffing specialist on a human resources (HR) servicing team providing the full range of staffing services to assigned organizations.
- →Serves as the primary point of contact for staffing activities and coordinates the use of various staffing systems with peers within the human resources office.
- →Provides advice and assistance to managers, supervisors, and administrative officials on various personnel management issues, particularly staffing and pay.
- →Advises and assists in the development of staffing methods, recruiting sources and methodologies, merit systems for placement and promotion activities, probationary practices, special employment programs, and staffing regulations.
- →Validates positions filled through merit promotion and delegated examining processes adhering to the agency's merit promotion plan and merit system principles.
- →Conducts analyses of applicant qualifications.
- →Utilizes automated systems and databases to track, document, and maintain personnel records and generate HR work products.
Requirements
- ✓GS-09 level: Applicants may qualify based on successful completion of a masters or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a masters degree or LL.B. or J.D.
- ✓GS-11 level: Applicants may qualify based on successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related.
- ✓GS-12 level: There is no educational substitute for specialized experience for this grade level.
- ✓Note: If using education to meet minimum requirements, you must submit unofficial transcripts to be considered.
