About the Role

You will serve as a HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST (LABOR & EMPLOYEE RELATIONS) in the FLEET HUMAN RESOURCES OFFICE, FLEET HRO STENNIS.

What You'll Do

  • You will plan, develop and administer a comprehensive employee and labor relations program for serviced commands including preparing directives and instructions to implement these programs and evaluating program needs.
  • You will advise all levels of management on labor and employee relations matters through individual contacts, conferences/meetings and training sessions.
  • You will serve as the primary interface with labor unions regarding representing employees (e.g.
  • IAM and AW at TRF).
  • You will recommend contract language to provide flexibility, feasibility and cost effectiveness.
  • You will provide liaison with labor relations staff at the Office of Civilian Human Resource (OCHR) Operations Center in all matters concerning serviced activities before the Federal Labor Relations Authority (FLRA).
  • You will advise management officials at all levels on disciplinary and performance matters that may lead to corrective action to include adverse actions.
  • You will manage performance management program, including the preparation and modification of formal instructions and issuance of procedural guidance.
  • You will work with command Federal Employees Compensation Act (FECA) coordinator and staffing specialists on medical-related issues.
