About the Role
This position is located within the Department of Veterans Affairs Central Office (VACO), Human Resources Service Center (HRSC), and focuses on the establishment and transition of Human Capital services for VACO staff offices including Veterans Health Administration (VHA), Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA), and the National Cemetery Administration (NCA). Incumbent will be responsible for administering Employee Benefits, Reasonable Accommodations (RA), and other related programs.
What You'll Do
- →Major duties include: Training employees and supervisors regarding the latest information on all federal benefits.
- →Evaluating trends in federal benefits laws and regulations influencing employee Work Life Benefits needs.
- →Counsel employees and beneficiaries on program coverages and advantages/disadvantages of benefits decisions.
- →Providing information about creditable military service, social security entitlements; retirement benefits, death benefits.
- →Developing and delivering briefings, status/staff reports, and correspondence to management regarding RA procedures.
- →Serving as an RA consultant and advisor, providing expert advice to employees, applicants, supervisors, and managers.
- →Administering and providing advisory services on federal leave programs (FMLA, VLTP, DVL, LWOP, and Advanced Leave).
- →Reviewing, developing and implementing practices and/or strategies in organizational development related to ADA and Title VI.
- →Providing advisory services on workplace flexibilities, tour of duty, group life insurance, health benefits, Thrift Savings Plan (TSP) and Reasonable Accommodation (RA).
- →Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm Compressed/Flexible: May be available at Manager's discretion.
- →Telework: Available Virtual: This is not a virtual position.
- →Return to Office (RTO): RTO mandates require selectee to report in person unless an approved exemption is already in place.
