The HR Officer position is in the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Office of Information and Technology (OIT), Office of People Science, Human Resources Office. The OIT HR offers recruitment and staffing, onboarding, personnel security, position management, and performance management and awards for all employees within OIT. Return to Office (RTO): RTO mandates are in affect and selectees will be required to report to in person work unless they have an approved exemption.
What You'll Do
- →Major Duties: Develops and oversees comprehensive long-range work plans and schedules for HR functions, including annual, multi-year, and similar types of plans.
- →Ensures successful implementation of goals and objectives for the HR program, exercising delegated managerial authority.
- →Determines staffing needs on a long-range basis, forming and directing teams and/or independently completing HR and other projects.
- →Leads and improves the overall resource governance, management, and performance of the HR program applying sound business principles, exercising budgeting and fiscal accountability, and linking strategic program planning to budgeting and fiscal performance.
- →Develops technical requirements and detailed descriptions for HR work to be accomplished, setting clear work schedules, deadlines, and quality standards.
- →Maintains oversight of progress, quality, and performance of HR services, including decisions on the acceptability, rejection, or correction of work products or services affecting Service Level Agreement payment.
- →Prioritizing and overseeing assignments in a manner that optimizes workflow, resource allocation, and employee efficiency.
- →Implementing HR automation initiatives and conducting regular workload analyses to enhance resource management.

- →Work Schedule: Monday - Friday; Tour of duty will be determined based on organizational needs.
