You will serve as a HR SPECIALIST (BENEFITS/ER) in the CIVILIAN HUMAN RESOURCES OFFICE of MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP PENDLETON. This is a RE-ADVERTISEMENT of Announcement Number:ST-12956274-26-JRC. Applicants that have previously applied NEED to re-apply to this announcement.
What You'll Do
- →You will serve as the primary case manager for all injury compensation claims under the provisions of the DOD Injury Compensation Program implemented under the Federal Employees' Compensation Act {FECA).
- →You will maintain continuous liaison with Department of Labor (DOL), Office of Workers Compensation (OWCP) representatives, Federal and private health practitioners and contract with private rehabilitation specialists.
- →You will maintain records, including automated data, regarding costs of compensation, medical expenses and continuation of pay (COP) for use in monitoring program and reporting purposes.
- →You will monitor and respond to unemployment insurance requests as well as appeals.
- →You will serve as the principal contact for the FECA Cost Reduction Working Group {FCRWG), maintaining all historical data, minutes, notes, recommendations, as well as conducting research on topical issues.
- →You will provide advice and assistance in establishing and maintaining employer-employee relationships that contribute to satisfactory productivity, motivation, morale, and discipline.
Requirements
- ✓In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience: GS-09: Successfully completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree.
- ✓OR Successfully completed two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree OR Obtained an LL.B. or J.D. that is related to the position being filled.
- ✓GS-07: 1 full year of graduate level education or superior academic achievement A transcript must be submitted with your application if qualifying using education.
