This position is located in the Environmental Management Service (EMS) of the VA Medical Center in Birmingham, Alabama. The Housekeeping Aid Supervisor exercises technical and administrative supervision over subordinate workers in supporting and performing tasks (e.g., environment of care, textile distribution and training) associated with the EMS goals and objectives.
What You'll Do
- →Work Schedule: 3:30 pm-midnight or Midnight-7:00 am; Rotating Shifts Position Description Title/PD#: Housekeeping Aid Supervisor/PD99911A Physical Requirements: The work performed requires walking, standing, stooping, stretching, and lifting.
- →Physical effort is required when performing housekeeping duties, operating equipment, during training sessions, or in emergency situations.
- →Work is performed in all areas of the medical center.
Requirements
- ✓Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
- ✓Suitable for Federal employment, determined by a background investigation All applicants tentatively selected for VA employment in a testing designated position are subject to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment.
