The Health Technician (Telemetry Monitor) works as a member of the Critical Care Team of the Columbia Healthcare System. The incumbent provides cardiac monitoring under the supervision of the registered nurse. The incumbent exhibits skill and proficiency sufficient to effective EKG monitoring, documenting data in the electronic health record (EHR) and operating commonly used equipment.
What You'll Do
- →Duties include but not limited to: Obtains and analyzes rhythm strips every 4 hours 0800-1200-1600-2000-2400-0400 Contacts units at the beginning of each shift to identify and document primary nurse Verbalizes actions to take when monitoring system fails.
- →Call WHEN supervisor, primary nurse, ICU charge nurse Confirms MD orders, assign telemetry box and completes CPRS telemetry admit note Demonstrates how to perform a 12 lead EKG Obtains rhythm strip within the first 30 minutes of patient's arrival to the floor, labels and stores in monitoring system.
