About the Position: This position is located at the Brooke Army Medical Center at the Brooke Army Medical Center. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service.
What You'll Do
- →Obtain images of ophthalmic anatomy and/or evaluation of vision function.
- →Record pupillary reactions, checks angles prior to dilating eyes and instills topical drugs into the eyes.
- →Set up ophthalmic ultrasound equipment for diagnostic use by the physician and performs routine cleaning of the ultrasound probes.
- →Conduct a variety of manual and automatic perimetric exams.
- →Interpret results of visual fields to determine need for additional and refined testing.
- →Perform routine, emergency, and walk-in screenings.
- →Serve as first surgical assistant and as scrub assistant to the surgeon in major and minor surgical procedures.
