These positions are located in the Bureau of Arms Control and Nonproliferation; Office of Nuclear Energy, Safety, and Security (ACN/NESS). ACN/NESS is responsible for policy development, negotiation, and implementation on a multilateral and bilateral basis of issues related to peaceful nuclear cooperation, nuclear-related export controls, nuclear reactor safety, and the physical protection and security of nuclear materials, facilities, and radiological sources.
What You'll Do
- →Liaises with internal and external partners and stakeholders on the development and implementation of peaceful nuclear cooperation programs, agreements, and policy initiatives.
- →Represents the Bureau and the Department in the coordination and implementation of sensitive bilateral agreements (e.g., 123 Agreements), conventions, nuclear export licenses, and policy initiatives.
- →Prepares different forms of written documentation (e.g., position papers, memoranda, diplomatic cables) to support peaceful nuclear cooperation efforts.
- →Advises on the analysis of policy issues as well as the review and evaluation of policy proposals on matters related to peaceful nuclear cooperation.
