This position has been established to perform a variety of tasks involving short order cooking, janitorial, bussing and other related duties for the Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) Department at NAS Key West. This is a flex temporary position without benefits (0-40 hours per week based on program needs)
What You'll Do
- →MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Short Order Cooking: Prepares grilled sandwich items such as cheeseburgers, grilled ham and cheese.
- →Uses fryer for such items as French fries and fried chicken sandwiches.
- →Cuts meats and prepares sandwiches such as a ham and turkey club.
- →Prepares chef salads, sets up salad bar.
- →Prepares coffee and tea for serving.
- →Stocks and readies grill area for preparing of food.
- →May be required to help prepare full course meals on special occasions; serves food cafeteria-style to diners and/or carries pre-ordered food to tables.
- →Janitorial: Vacuums carpets, cleans furniture, washes floors.
- →Performs a full range of cleaning tasks in the building including washing walls, baseboards, windows and ledges, cleaning appliances, counters, vents, mirrors, commodes and urinals.
- →Empties ash trays, waste and garbage containers.
- →Bussing: Removes dishes and utensils from tables.
- →Resets tables with place mats, utensils, napkins, sugar, salt, etc.
- →Sets up or assists in setting up and taking down tables and chairs for special parties or functions.
- →Other: May operate cash register and make associated reports when collecting payment for meals.
