PLEASE NOTE: Based on the current hiring restrictions, selectees may be subject to additional approvals prior to an offer being extended. Located at Bureau of the Fiscal Service, Alternate Payments Division. As a Financial Program Specialist, you will assist a Program Manager by analyzing, evaluating, and supporting financial operations.
What You'll Do
- →As a Financial Program Specialist, you will: Assist Digital Payment Solutions program areas to build, maintain, enhance, and operate collection channels, gateways, and programs.
- →Work with Federal agency customers to establish and improve working relationships and provide guidance, resolve problems, and perform duties associated with a central service provider.
- →Perform process improvement evaluations of financial programs, processes, and systems to assess the efficiency and effectiveness of operations, identify root cause issues, and provide recommendations for remedies/improvements in policies, procedures, customer service, and program management.
- →Assist in formulating policies, plans, processes, and procedures for managing and continually improving the efficiency and effectiveness of accounting, financial, or electronic invoicing programs.
- →Evaluate new technology and/or proposed process, system or service changes, and project impact to the program.
- →Responsibilities include ensuring compliance, maintaining accurate records, optimizing workflows, and helping manage all day-to-day operational functions required of the assigned program.
Requirements

- ✓Complete a Declaration for Federal Employment to determine your suitability for Federal employment, at the time requested by the agency.
- ✓Have your salary sent to a financial institution of your choice by Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer.
- ✓If you are a male applicant born after December 31, 1959, certify that you have registered with the Selective Service System or are exempt from having to do so.
- ✓Go through a Personal Identity Verification (PIV) process that requires two forms of identification from the Form I-9.
- ✓Federal law requires verification of the identity and employment eligibility of all new hires in the U.S.
- ✓Obtain and use a government-issued charge card for business-related travel.
- ✓This position requires that the successful candidate undergo personnel vetting, which includes a background investigation and enrollment upon onboarding into "Continuous Vetting." Enrollment in Continuous Vetting will result in automated record checks being conducted throughout one's employment with Treasury.
