The primary purpose of this position is: To serve as an Executive Support Specialist providing administrative support and assisting with the direction of the Headquarters (HQ) U.S. Air Force Academy (USAFA) , ensuring day-to-day operations comply with the policies of the Department of Defense (DoD), Department of the Air Force (DAF), U.S. Air Force (USAF) and USAFA.
What You'll Do
- →Performs various administrative, analytical, and staff support for the Superintendent and their Front Office, HQ, and USAFA.
- →Performs day-to-day operations of the organization including: responding to requests for administrative assistance; tasking actions where possible or follows-up on appropriate actions with organization action officers; assists with planning, directing, and organizing functions assigned to or directed by the executive leadership within the organization.
- →Serves as the resident subject matter expert for all mandated administrative support programs for HQ.
- →Ensures unit program compliance with regulations, laws, policies, and squadron commander directives.
- →Manages HQ resources for executive support, services, and activities.
- →Develops a resource plan for executive support, including a budget, equipment, computers, supplies, and required services.
- →Optimizes USAFA workflow and manages collaboration tools.
- →Operates information systems to create, collect, process, disseminate, use, store, protect, and dispose of information.
- →Assesses, develops, and manages dashboards and other collaboration tools for USAFA.
- →Leads, designs, and conducts comprehensive studies where the boundaries are extremely broad and difficult to determine in advance.
- →Leads or participates in special studies and initiatives that form the basis of changes in strategy, planning, and doctrine; identifies focus groups; advocates and explains the Commander's position on assigned program conferences and working-level meetings to gain necessary support and cooperation for USAFA initiatives.
Requirements
- ✓IF USING EDUCATION TO QUALIFY: If position has a positive degree requirement or education forms the basis for qualifications, you MUST submit transcripts with the application.
- ✓Official transcripts are not required at the time of application; however, if position has a positive degree requirement, qualifying based on education alone or in combination with experience, transcripts must be verified prior to appointment.

- ✓Department of Education must accredit education.

- ✓FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements.
- ✓You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program.
- ✓Appointment of military members before the release or discharge date is permissible if the member is on terminal leave.
- ✓At the time the active duty member applies for a civil position, he or she must submit a "certification" memo in lieu of a DD-Form 214, Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty.
- ✓Active duty members applying for a civil service position without submitting a valid certification memo or DD-Form 214 with their application will render the member ineligible for the position.
- ✓Note: The VOW Act provides tentative preference.
- ✓If appointed, a DD Form-214 must be submitted upon receipt
