This position is located in the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Environmental Satellite, Data, and Information Service (NESDIS), Office of Satellite Products and Operations (OSPO), with 1 vacancy in Fairbanks, AK; College Park, MD; Silver Spring, MD; Suitland, MD; Asheville, NC; Boulder, CO; Fort Collins, CO; and Madison, WI or Stennis Space Center, MS.
What You'll Do

- →As an Engineering Technician, you will perform the following duties: Oversee the design and integration parameters such as, but not limited to mechanical, structural, electrical, environmental, industrial, manufacturing, and chemical engineering.
- →Determine nature and scope of project requirements and preliminary planning for design feasibility of local fabrication versus procurement, adaptability, cost and maintenance considerations.
- →Provide technical guidance on vehicle and machinery specifications appropriate for use in the local climate while monitoring fleet vehicle usage, maintenance, and life cycle.
- →POSITION REQUIREMENTS: This position requires the operation of a Federal motor vehicle.
Requirements
- ✓This position will be filled under the DOC Alternative Personnel System (CAPS).
- ✓Under CAPS, positions are classified by career, pay plan, and pay band.
- ✓The ZT-4 is equivalent to the GS-11/12.
- ✓Key Requirements: Applicants must be U.S.
- ✓Suitable for Federal employment, as determined by background investigation.
