The Deputy Associate Administrator (AA) for Shipbuilding and Industry Expansion serves as a deputy to the Associate Administrator for Maritime Industry Support and Shipbuilding. The Deputy AA is responsible for the following areas: Office of New Shipbuilding, Office of Ship Acquisitions, Office of Technical Reviews, Office of Deep-Water Ports, and Office of Shipyards and Marine Engineering.
What You'll Do
- →As the DAA, you will: Represent the Maritime Administration (MARAD) in conferences, meetings, symposia, and interagency briefings related to US-flag commercial ships carrying cargo both nationally and internationally.
- →Be responsible for serving as the liaison with other Federal Agencies responsible for supporting the Maritime Industry.
- →Represent the Maritime Administration (MARAD) in conferences, meetings, symposia, and interagency briefings related to US-flag commercial ships carrying cargo both nationally and internationally.
- →These briefings can be of a highly sensitive nature and involve matters of national security.
- →Identify and implement management improvements, cost reductions, and enhanced efficiencies whenever possible.
- →Establish and maintain effective system of internal controls in all financial programs, complying with relevant Federal standards and regulations.
Requirements

- ✓Complete a Declaration for Federal Employment to determine your suitability for Federal employment, at the time requested by the agency If you are a male applicant born after December 31, 1959, certify that you have registered with the Selective Service System or are exempt from having to do so.

- ✓Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- ✓WRITING SAMPLE: A writing sample may be required.
- ✓DRUG TEST: This is a drug testing position.
- ✓You will be required to complete a drug test upon entry of this position and are subjected to at random drug testing.
- ✓If you are qualifying for this position by substituting education or training for experience, submit a copy of your transcripts or equivalent.
- ✓An official transcript will be required if you are selected.
- ✓A college or university degree generally must be from an accredited (or pre-accredited) college or university recognized by the U.S.
- ✓Department of Education.
