What You'll Do
- →Responsible for traveling throughout their respective region providing complex specialized dental services for federal prisoners confined at the facilities within the region.
- →Provides in-house specialized dental services (e.g., complex exodontia, biopsies, pre-prosthetic surgery) at the request of local institutions within their respective region and as approved by the Regional Dental Consultant.
- →Performs all duties in accordance with current accepted dental practices and when necessary refers selected cases to outside consultants or specialists.
- →Provides timely and appropriate care to inmates at facilities within their respective region in the absence of the Chief Dental Officer or staff dentist.
- →Provides additional clinical support to understaffed dental programs and/or provides in-house advanced surgical care for inmates as appropriate in the dental clinical setting.
- →This position is located in a BOP correctional facility and requires significant travel.
- →Along with all other correctional institutional employees, incumbent is charged with responsibility for maintaining security of the institution.
- →The staff correctional responsibilities precede all others required by this position and are performed on a regular and recurring basis.
Requirements

- ✓Meet CTAP or ICTAP eligibility criteria; 2.
- ✓Be rated well-qualified for the position, scoring at least half of the total possible points for the vacancy KSAs or competencies; and 3.
- ✓Submit the appropriate documentation to support your CTAP or ICTAP eligibility: A copy of the agency notice (i.e., separation notice or agency RIF letter), Most recent performance appraisal, and Most recent SF-50 showing current/former position, grade, promotion potential, and duty location.
