This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Office of the Under Secretary for Management (OUSM). The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a team member of the USM's Executive Secretariat responsible for receiving and analyzing a wide range of information inquiries, papers, and correspondence submitted to the Secretary, Deputy Secretary, the USM, and the Chiefs of the Management Directorate (MGMT). Non-BU: This is a non-bargaining unit position.
What You'll Do
- →As a Correspondence Analyst, GS-0301-13, your typical work assignments may include: Researches, develops, and checks the accuracy of information from a wide-range of sources regarding policy objectives.
- →Consolidates comments from senior-level leadership, de-conflicts contending positions, discern key priorities, and propose alternative language to bring various staff members to a consensus opinion consistent with the USM's strategic goals.
- →Determines appropriateness of the materials and develops written responses determining the organization of the final document or presentation.
- →Monitors controlled materials and provides information for a report on the status of products, especially overdue correspondence, on a daily basis or as requested.
