About the Role
This position is located in the Nutrition and Food Service at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Charleston, South Carolina. The person in this position prepares nutritious, high quality meals for service to the Veterans.
What You'll Do
- →May visit patients to take meal orders, entering meal orders into the dietary software package.
- →Use computer to run a variety of food service reports and receive phone requests for meal trays.
- →Serve as relief for Food Service Work leader when necessary Cleans and sanitizes work areas, and performs deep cleaning tasks when needed Operates industrial dish machine Performs other related duties Work Schedule: Variable tours between 0530 and 1830, including every other weekend and some holidays Position Description Title/PD#: Cook/PD078450 Relocation/Recruitment Incentives: Not authorized
Requirements
- ✓Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
- ✓Suitable for Federal employment, determined by a background investigation All applicants tentatively selected for VA employment in a testing designated position are subject to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment.
