This position is located in the Office of the Under Secretary of War for Intelligence and Security (OUSW(I&S)), Congressional Activities Office. The Under Secretary of War for Intelligence and Security (USW(I&S)), serves as the principal staff assistant (PSA) to the Secretary of War (Sec War) regarding Intelligence, Counterintelligence (CI), Security, sensitive activities, and other intelligence-related matters (referred to as a Defense Intelligence, CI, and Security).
What You'll Do
- →This Position is a Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS) position in the Excepted Service under 10 U.S.C. 1601 If selected, Federal employees currently serving in the competitive service must acknowledge that they will voluntarily leave the competitive service by accepting an offer of employment for a DCIPS excepted service positions.
- →If selected, non-DCIPS candidates must acknowledge that the position they have been selected for is in the excepted service and covered by DCIPS.
- →For more information see https://dcips.defense.gov/ Incumbents typical work assignments may include the following: Serves as a member of the senior professional staff for Congressional Activities and supports the implementation of the Office of Under Secretary of War for Intelligence and Security OUSW(I&S) strategy for developing legislative requirements and priorities.
- →Orchestrates briefings and meetings to congressional oversight committee staff that represent OUSW(I&S) interests, requirements and priorities.
- →Supports preparation of witness testimony, ensuring the testimony is properly coordinated with Department of War (DoW) and with the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) prior to the hearing.
- →Responds to congressional inquiries related to OUSW(I&S) activities generated throughout the legislative cycle.
