As a Communication Specialist, you will manage the strategic communications planning process for Office of Policy and Strategy by supporting internal and external communications, overseeing the clearance of materials, and promoting USCIS policy and regulatory work to a variety of audiences.
What You'll Do
- →Writing, editing, and designing various communication materials such as office reports, correspondence, speeches or talking points, articles, technical fact sheets, policies, bulletins, presentation materials, MS Teams posts, and web pages.
- →Managing communication sites for the office, including web pages and MS Team groups.
- →Serving as project manager on communication initiatives and consulting as the communication expert on other projects assigned projects with internal program office and agency-wide scope.
- →Measuring the effectiveness of communication strategies on diverse audiences.
- →Evaluating and refining communication plans based on the results of audience research.
Requirements
- ✓Conditions of Employment: You must be a U.S.
- ✓Citizen or U.S.
- ✓Residency Requirement: There is a residency requirement for all applicants not currently employed by U.S.
- ✓Citizenship and Immigration Services.
- ✓This residency requirement states that candidates must have, for three of the last five years immediately prior to applying for this position; (1) resided in the United States; OR (2) worked for the United States Government as an employee overseas in a Federal or Military capacity, OR (3) been a dependent of a U.S.
- ✓Federal or Military employee serving overseas.
- ✓Probationary Period: You may be required to serve a probationary period of 1 year.
