About the Role
The Informatics Pharmacist is administratively responsible for the assessment, design, integration, maintenance and analysis of data delivery of Pharmacy informatics and Pharmacy computerized systems, to include oversight of the daily operation of technical, analytical pharmacy automated data processing and management information systems. - →VA Careers - Pharmacy: https://youtube.com/embed/Fn_ickNBEws The Clinical Pharmacy Specialist- Informatics Incumbent: Be skilled in both mainframe and microcomputer applications.
- →Have a working knowledge of automated devices that interflow with pharmacy computer applications which support Pharmacy, Nursing, and Medical Staff functions and information.
- →Functions as an expert in data management and analysis.
- →Must be proficient in VISTA/CPRS/Cerner for medication displays and ordering capabilities.
- →Responsible for managing, organizing and coordinating the Pharmacy support for modernization changes to the Cerner electronic health record system.
- →Ensures that the application of Informatics is fluent throughout the Pharmacy Service.
- →Coordinates and assist with the Pharmacy Service information management managerial decisions.
- →Collaborate with service and facility ADPACs and CACs.
- →Enhances patient safety through optimizing medication ordering capabilities and administration systems to reduce errors.
- →This entails monitoring such systems and error reports.
- →Provides facility and comparative data for clinical and administrative decision making.
- →Responsible for assessment, design, integration, modification, maintenance and analysis of data, data management services, networking and computerized medical record for Pharmacy Service to assist and support Pharmacy Service managerial decision making.
- →Expected to think innovatively, exert problem solving skills, promote forward thinking and implement changes to progress patient care.
- →Will participate in the implementation of new programs and activities.
