What You'll Do

  • You will serve as Child Development Program Educational Technician at the Personal Services Division, Child and Youth Programs Branch, Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS), MCAGCC, in Twentynine Palms, CA.
  • You will provide appropriate specialized developmental care and instruction for children and youth in a Department of Defense (DoD) Children and Youth Program.
  • You will maintain control and account for the whereabouts and safety of children and youth ranging in age from 6 weeks to 18 years.
  • You will implement activities and special events that meet the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive needs of children and youth.
  • You will establish a program environment that sustains participant interest and promotes positive interactions with other children, youth, and adults.
  • You will supervise participants during daily schedule of indoor and outdoor activities and on field trips, outings, and special events.
  • You will interact professionally with staff members, parents, and local installation command personnel.
  • You will observe program participants for signs that may indicate illness, abuse, or neglect and report as directed.
  • You will complete training requirements using approved Office of Secretary Of Defense (OSD) and Service materials to include designated training modules.
  • You will participate in program evaluation using designated instruments such as programmatic rating scales, risk assessment tools (as required), self-inspection materials, and national accreditation tools.

Requirements

  • In lieu of general/specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience: 2 years above high school with courses related to the occupation, if required A transcript must be submitted with your application if qualifying using education.

  • OR Have a combination of both specialized experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
  • My percentage of the required education plus my percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent.
