About the Role
This position functions as a professional Chaplain within the VHA, carrying out clinical pastoral assignments and delivering comprehensive religious, spiritual, and pastoral care in alignment with the needs, preferences, and voluntary consent of Veterans, caregivers, and staff. The Chaplain addresses the spiritual dimensions of health and wellness across all patient care settings, ensuring that pastoral care is seamlessly integrated into the full scope of chaplain services.
What You'll Do
- →Major Duties Include but are not limited to: Serves as a Chaplain professional, providing comprehensive religious and spiritual ministry services to Veterans based on their individual needs and preferences.
- →Delivers ministry that is fully integrated into VHA's Chaplain program.
- →Provides guidance and advice to Chaplain Service leadership, fellow Chaplains, and other stakeholders.
- →May serve in a clinical setting, small healthcare system, satellite outpatient clinic, other federal agency, or Community-Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) with limited onsite supervision.
- →Provides extended, intensive pastoral counseling for patients facing complex ethical, moral, or spiritual concerns.
- →Ensures program effectiveness and recommends modifications to service delivery, including contributing to research and leading clinical teams.
- →Practices within specialized clinical or program areas that may involve extended pastoral counseling as part of the treatment plan for patients with significant moral, ethical, or spiritual issues.

Requirements
- ✓You must be a U.S.

- ✓Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
